SnowCon is Maine’s largest and longest-running tabletop gaming convention which has been organized, planned, and executed by an all-volunteer staff since 2009.

SnowCon’s focus is on tabletop games of all types: board games, card games, roleplaying games, LARPs, miniatures, demo games, strategy games; as well as a packed game library, vendors, exhibitors, and even occasionally trivia, costume contests, improv, and other shenanigans for gamers of all ages and experience levels.

SnowCon started because Monique Bouchard just wanted to play the Deadlands RPG with friends and it got a little out of hand. Gibran Graham is an avid board game fan (and sharp Catan player) who, with Drew Bouchard (a role playing kind of guy and Monique’s husband) founded SnowCon.

The first SnowCon Gaming Convention was held in 2009, motivated by the BangPop! team’s mutual love of games and gaming. With a crowd of nearly 200 in the first year, it seemed that we were on to something.

Over the years, the team added Todd Caron (an equal opportunity game enthusiast), Jared Hunnefeld (a hardcore tabletop gamer), and Shane Perry (the joyful and enthusiastic fellow who also has a three-person-chess set).  Together, they joined forces to make SnowCon even better. They think you should totally come hang out with them!

Each year the core staff works with a large volunteer crew of gamers and GMs to craft great weekend for game fans of all ages.

We can now proudly say we’ve been doing this for more than a decade. And we plan to keep it up for years to come.
